Wake Up With Doug K

The issues driven talk show "Wake Up Daytona!" originally launched on AM 1150 WNDB on January 8, 2007 from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. weekday mornings.

WakeUpDaytona! proved to be enormously popular...it then moved to AM 1380 WELE and the name of the show was altered slightly to "WakeUp! with Doug Kosarek" and was expanded by an hour (now from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.)...and continued to grow and improve.

It became distinctly clear that "WakeUp!" was about way more than getting up in the morning...it was about an awakening of "We the People"..politically and as engaged members of their community.

Now, WakeUp! is in the midst of the next stage of it's evolution. The show has built a tremendous and loyal following...and they want their WakeUp! back.

On Monday, November 16th...the show returns on AM 1520 WHIM Orlando as part of Salem Communications network of radio stations in Central Florida...the call in number is 407-774-8255.

On September 1, 2009, the WakeUp! team also began negotiations with several stations in the Jacksonville market, a station in Flagler County, a station in Tallahassee and one in Naples...in addition to renewing talks with the USTalkNetwork.

It is an exciting time for WakeUp! and it's listeners...as the show re-tools and gets ready for a broader audiance.

Consolidation of Services
Twenty years ago the citizens voted on consolidating the 17 governments of Volusia County into one govenment entity. It failed 18,186 to 22,218. Have our circumstances changed?

Duval County has been operating as a consolidated government for over 20 years. Has the change benefited the citizens?

A citizen's group studied Orange County government for in-efficiencies and determined that over $1 Billion dollars of taxpayer money could be saved through a "regionalization" approach. Is there a way to build a better local government?

Tax Reform
Local, state, and national tax reforms. We dig into the Fair Tax, expanding the State Sales Tax, Elimination of State Sales Tax Exemptions, Property Tax Reform in ALL it's variations.

Health Care Reform
The Federal Government's efforts to reform the Health Care system and the public reaction has been "water cooler" talk all summer. Polling shows that the vast majority of the public want some improvement and reform...but the bill H.R.3200 was resoundingly rejected by the people who READ it...surprising elected officials who had not.

Town Hall and Tea Party Movement
The Mainstream Media just doesn't understand what is really happening and the strategists who do are burning the midnight oil to "reframe" the discussion...yet "WE THE PEOPLE" have recognized that politicians of BOTH parties have forgotten that it is OUR VOICE that they were elected to represent.
