Twenty years ago we voted on consolidating the 17 governments of Volusia County into one govenment entity. It failed 18,186 to 22,218. Have our circumstances changed?

If you don't know your destination, there's no path in the world that will get you there. The City of Daytona Beach is in the midst of a two year visioning process. Central Florida has recently completed the "How Shall We Grow?" process and has begun it's implementation.

Over half of our workforce cannot afford to live in over half the area homes. The average wage earner, even with another average wage earner in the family...can't qualify for a mortgage to pay for a median priced home. The supply of homes that are affordable to our teachers, police officers, firefighters and other entry level professionals is slim. What needs to be done to create a supply of homes our workforce can afford?
